Food cravings are just the worst. It can cause a pregnant woman to hunt for dark-chocolate ice-cream at midnight in the streets of Melbourne (Yes, I’m talking about Preity Zinta in Salaam Namaste). It can also cause couples to break up because one made fun of the other’s “ridiculous” food cravings (I’m definitely not talking about my life).
Having said that, 5 guys living in Delhi, including 2 juveniles, allegedly booked a cab from a phone they had stolen, hijacked the car, robbed the driver, and threw him out of the car all because they were craving parathas from Haryana’s famous paratha-spot Murthal.
According to a report by NDTV, Pankaj (19), Sagar (20), and Abhijeet (19) have been identified out of the 5 who booked the cab from Najafgarh road in Nangloi via an app. On reaching Rajdhani Park, they started to beat the driver and hijacked the car. They stole his wallet so they could fund their trip to Haryana, threw him out of the car, and drove off.
The intention of the 3 guys was to eat parathas for dinner. However, a fight broke out midway between them because some wanted to go to Shimla instead of Murthal. After neither of the two plans worked out, the guys ended up having dinner in the car after picking up food from an eatery. They then parked the car at a secluded spot and fled.
After a police complaint was filed, an investigation led to Sagar and Pankaj being arrested. They then disclosed the names of the others involved in the crime.
