Guy Says His Dad Taught His Brother & Him About Periods At 13 So They Could Look After Mom

Not rape, harassment, transphobia, or domestic violence, but periods or menstruation is something that makes many hang their heads in shame. Forget about talking about a woman’s biological cycle in public, many don’t even spark a conversation about it at home with their families.

Even in today’s times, many change the channel when an advertisement about menstrual products is shown on TV.

However, among these, there are some sensible ones who don’t fear discussing women’s periods with other men.

Taking to Instagram, Anish Bhagat shared a video wherein he revealed that his dad introduced his brother and him to the concept of periods when they were just thirteen years old.

“He just wanted to make sure that mumma is looked after no matter what,” he can be seen saying.

Anish goes on to share that the three men in his house (his father, him, and his brother) have a WhatsApp group that is about taking care of the only woman in their house whenever she is sick or on her period. They also take turns to get her pads every month.

“We actually have a group called Bhagat Men for many years which is about taking care of mumma when she is unwell or she is on her periods. So three of us actually take turns and alternate every couple of months to get her fresh set of pads.”

This time around, it was Anish’s turn to get his mom sanitary pads. So, he decided to make a thoughtful hamper for her that constituted some pads, chocolate, a sheet mask, and a hot bag.

After preparing a cup of hot tea for his mom, Anish gave her the goodie bag.

He goes on to reveal that it’s been six years since his mother has stepped out of her home to fetch pads as they are the ones who get them for her.

Sharing the video, Anish wrote, “She’s treated like the QUEEN that she is. Period.”

People loved this positive masculinity and hailed the dad for raising their boys right.

Imagine this being taught at an early age to every man out there. What a beautiful world it would be for women.
