Neighbours In UP Unite To Fund IIT Dream Of A 17 YO Girl After She Was Forced To Quit Studies

Everyday we come across news which breaks our heart and sends chills down our spine as crimes in the country continue to grow and we have pretty much given up on humanity. But, there are rare instances when people manage to surprise us with gestures and we think that maybe the world isn’t such a bad place to live in, after all.

A similar incident happened in Indirapuram when a girl had to leave studies after her 12th standard due to a financial crisis in her family. However, her neighbours decided not to let destiny play its cruel joke with her.

As reported by Times Of India, 17-year-old Kajal Jha was forced to leave her studies after completing her 12th standard, but the residents of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, through crowdfunding, raised Rs 20,000 to get her enrolled in a coaching centre to prepare for IIT.

Kajal had passed her 12th standard in the science stream with 95% marks but their financial condition was so bad that the family at one point decided to commit suicide. However, about 40 people came together and counselled them along with providing economic aid to them.

They also managed to get her father a job and he now works as a supervisor to take care of the family’s economic needs. The neighbours, through social media and their own savings, are raising money to help pay for Kajal’s IIT fees.

They have also promised to help the family pay for her elder brother’s fees who is now in the first semester of IIT. Kajal stated that the reason for their deteriorating economic condition was the amount of money they had to spend on the healthcare her grandparents, father and brother who remained sick for a considerable time.

A lot of organisations have also got in touch with Kajal and her family and are trying their best to get their house mortgage-free. Such beautiful and selfless acts of humanity warm our heart and it is because of people like these that the world becomes that much more bearable.
