This TV Show Is A Love Story Of A Woman With A KID And It’s Creepy To The Power Infinity!

Let’s address the elephant in the room, the Indian television daily soaps have degraded unusually in the past few years. There was a time when shows like ‘Ramayan’, ‘Malgudi Days’, ‘Fauji’, ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’ and many more, had imbibed themselves into the routine of every Indian family.

But today, these shows have nothing like, what sane people refer to as a ‘story’ or a ‘plot line’. It starts with something and transforms itself into some masala twist and then goes on endlessly. Sample, ‘Naagin’ or ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ for reference.

And when I thought the insanity has ended, this *insanely incredible* promo of a new show called ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’ made me cringe so damn hard! From what the promo suggests, it is a love story of a woman and wait for it, a KID! And I am elated to share a break-down of the whole thing with you. So here we go.

It starts with the long shot of a beautifully dressed woman in what can be called as a palace of sorts.

 

And then she gracefully steps into get something out of the drawer and turns out that it’s a GUN. Pehredaari taken seriously! Damn.

 

And then comes the moment when she does that says…

 

Who is ratan-sa you wonder? Well, the 10 something kid that she has to bodyguard! And here it is, TV’s idea of a new-age couple –

 

And that’s not even the point where I cringed the most. I was waiting for the narrator to tell a different story but then, the kid…dramatically puts sindoor on her forehead.

Man oh man! Why are we just blaming Bollywood movies for glorying the wrong things, television should be held equally responsible. While the plot of the show will only get clearer when it airs, but this is downright creepy.
