This Pakistani Guy’s Cover Of ‘Closer’ Was So Terrible, He Actually Got Arrested For It!

‘Closer’ by Chainsmokers was one of the greatest hits of 2016. The song became a party favourite and was one of the most requested songs last year. Moreover, the track also inspired a whole host of covers and mashups including one from the melodious Vidya Vox. However, some of these covers were let’s say, less than melodious.

Nasir Khan Jan, a vlogger from Pakistan, recently “sang” his own rendition of ‘Closer’ and it was horrendous. 

Just to let you all know, this guy has 126K likes on his Facebook page!

 

Several proactive netizens were furious with the sheer magnitude of terrible-ness exuding from that cover.

In fact, somebody got so offended they filed an FIR against him and he was arrested!

Of course, there were a few sympathisers who appreciated the guy and protested his arrest.

Zhareeli chummi? ZAHREELI CHUMMI!? Honestly, I’m at a total loss for words.

While this guy may have ruined ‘Closer’ for me forever, arresting him for it may be going a little too far. I mean, we’ve all got the right to freedom of expression. Just because we don’t like someone’s “expression” doesn’t mean we go arrest them for it.
