Delhi’s Crowded Chandni Chowk Undergoes Transformation, 1.3 Km Stretch Now Car-Free Zone

Chandni Chowk, which is known to have been one of the most crowded and congested areas of Delhi, has gone through a massive transformation! According to a report by The Indian Express, a 1.3-km stretch between the Red Fort and the Fatehpuri Masjid has been turned into a car-free zone. This decision was taken keeping in mind the Mughal-era architectural style.

By November this year, the area is to be opened for the public. The road will be accessible to the differently-abled as well. Non-motorised vehicles like rickshaws will be allowed to run on the stretch.

Others posted pictures of the area too:

Delhiites are loving how clean and amazing the place looks now! Many expressed how this transformation will help people enjoy the work of the artisans.

Kudos to the authorities for beautifully transforming Delhi’s iconic Chandni Chowk!
