Apart From Vikas, 2 Other Barala Brothers Had Kidnapped A Minor Girl Before Chandigarh Case

The Chandigarh stalking case is getting murkier with each passing day. It all began when the victim, Varnika Kundu, was shamed because she was out late, that fateful night. If you have missed, it even escalated to a point where politicos went for Varnika’s character assassination by circulating fake information! In fact, singer-minister, Babul Supriypo also reduced the crime committed by Vikas Barala to a ‘mischief.’

But just when we thought it couldn’t be any worse, the reality is here to remind us otherwise. As it turns out, the high-profile stalking case is not an isolated example which indicts the Baralas. There are reported crimes, dating May, that involve more than one kin of the Haryana BJP chief, Subhash Barala.

According to NDTV, a case was registered against Vikram Barala and Kuldeep Barala, Vikas’ cousins, for allegedly kidnapping a 16-year-old girl from Badhai Khera village in Fatehabad on May 7.

The case was registered under Sections 323, 341, 506 and 427 of the IPC in a Tohana police station. Reports suggest, that the minor was rescued by the police after the locals had blocked the Hisar-Chandigarh highway, demanding action. The men, incidentally, are out on bail now.

This particular case came up for hearing recently and the court has directed the state government and police to file a status report about the same.

Apart from the alleged abduction, the Barala brothers also reportedly threatened the victim and her family to lay low about it.  She told India Today,

“They were threatening us. We were compelled to leave the village.”

The police maintain that the minor did not mention kidnapping in her statement before the local magistrate and hence the family has demanded that she be allowed to give a fresh statement again.

That is not it. Besides the abduction, Vikram Barala is also accused of beating up a youth and then locking him inside the dickey of his car. A case under section 323, 341, 506 and 427 of the IPC was registered last month.

As twisted as this sounds, we can only hope that the cases do not rot in the corner and justice is meted out with the victim(s). Both the minor and Varnika!
