If You’ve Bunked Way Too Many Classes In College, You Know This To Be True

If bunking is an art, then I am Picasso. There is nothing more refreshing and uplifting than missing a few classes on a hectic day and going out with your friends for a movie or just a casual stroll. If you happened to bunk a few lectures back in the day, you would agree that those were some of the best times you had with your friends which helped make some great memories that you cherish even today.  Following are the things you will relate to if you bunked way too many classes in your school/college.

1. Low attendance- who cares?

You never cared about your attendance. In fact, each time your teacher told you that you are running short of attendance, you just laughed it off.

2. Perks of being the “mass bunk initiator”

The real joy of bunking the lectures is when your entire class bunks along with you (Read: mass bunk )
You probably had great persuasive powers which helped you convince even the first-benchers to bunk the class along with you.

3. You had a fair idea of all the cool places to hang around- because that is where you went when you bunked

Whether it was the new restaurant that had opened near your school, a movie theatre, amusement park or a nearby stall of nimbu paani – you had experienced it all.

4. At least half of your subject teachers didn’t know you

And how do you expect them to know you or remember your name, when you were rarely seen in class?

5. Each time you dropped by to attend a class, this was your classmates’ reaction:

You attending a lecture was a rare and a special occasion, so much so, that each time your classmates spotted you in the lecture, they were shocked beyond their wits.

6. You used your absence as an excuse every time, which helped you get away with missing deadlines and surprise tests

Teacher:  Why have you not submitted the assignment? Today was the last date.
Student:  Miss, actually I was absent during the last lecture, the one before that and perhaps, even the one before that. So I had no idea about the assignment.

7. You were too good at lying (almost). The infamous Ross-accidental-name-flub has happened with you at least once

Mom: Hey where are you going?
Me: Hey mom! I am going to the movi…..COLLEGE! COLLEGE! I am going to COLLEGE. I swear! COLLEGE is where I am going.

8. It was a challenge to understand what was being taught in the few lectures which you attended

CONTINUITY is important people.

9. You begged almost all of your friends to put in your fake attendance while you bunked ( Read: attendance proxy)

Many of your friends hated you for this. 2 minute silence for the brave-hearts who got caught by the teachers in the dangerous act of fake name calling.
*cue sad music, apology letters and possible suspension*

10. The security guard of your school hated you, for you made his job a hundred times harder

Only if you had a dollar for each time you deceived him at the entry gate and ran away with your friends.

11. You were the master of making excuses

You had a million excuses lined up just in case you were caught by your teachers or parents while bunking. But you probably had no way to escape your mom’s Jutti or Dad’s belt after that.

Happy Bunking everyone!  P.S: Don’t get caught.
