Video Of Bride Wanting To Wear Jeans & Get On With Wedding Rituals Faces Backlash Online

When we think of Indian brides and grooms, we usually picture the former in lehengas and sarees and the latter in sherwanis and dhotis. However, in recent times, many brides are dictating their own terms and going against the norm. For example, a bride in Rajasthan decided to dress up in a sherwani and arrived for a pre-wedding ritual on a horse.

And in a video that has gone viral, a bride can be seen decked up in ‘dulhan’ avatar, but only waist up. Waist down, she is wearing a pair of ripped jeans! She sadly says that she wants to wear her jeans and get on with the wedding rituals. Have a look at the video here:

Even though the video itself is adorable, several people online couldn’t help but criticize it. While on one hand people accused the bride of going against tradition, others asked why spend so much money on a lehenga if the bride doesn’t want to wear it.

It’s almost as if people forgot considering that the bride must have been kidding and that the video is just for fun.

However, for some other good people online, the message was clear: You do you, boo!

Do you think that it’s high time that a bride and a groom should be given the freedom to wear whatever they want on their big day? Tell us!
