Mothers tend to give a lot of wedding references to their daughters while they are growing up. It’s like moms have a switch button – they see a cute saree online and say “I’m gonna wear something like that for your wedding”, or while tasting tandoori chicken at a random restaurant they go like “I’m booking these guys as caterers for your wedding!”
So it’s kinda impossible to imagine your wedding without your mom.
Emma Letts got engaged in 2016 and just a month after her world came crashing down when her mother was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.
She passed away before she could see her daughter walking down the aisle. But she made sure to make her presence felt on Emma’s big day.
Her mother had customized wedding shoes made for her which were delivered to Emma a few months before the wedding date.
Emma was shocked to find a message from her mother printed on the soles of her bridal shoes.
“Wanted you to have a gift from me on your wedding day. Your wedding shoes are my gift to you. Hope you have a magical day. Lots and lots of love and big hugs, Mum xxxx”, the message read.
“I started to cry… I was just absolutely in bits. I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk”, Emma said after having read the message.
According to sources, Letts’ mother had been writing letters to her family members but ran out of time before writing one for her daughter. Hence, the message on the shoes was extra special to the bride.
A mother knows how to make her kid’s day special even in her absence!
