There have been multiple movies that showed a bride or a groom having cold feet and running away on their wedding day. But unlike Tara in Shuddh Desi Romance or Suhas in 3 Idiots, one bride decided to bring her groom back to the mandap after she realised he left her to dry.
According to a report by NDTV, a woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareily was in a relationship with a man for two-and-a-half years. On the day of their wedding, the groom got cold feet and didn’t arrive at the venue on time. The bride, on the other hand, kept waiting for him in her shaadi ka joda.
She called him up and he answered, saying that he is going to pick up his mother and will arrive in no time. But she didn’t believe him. She was also told by somebody that her groom would not come. So, she went on a 20 kms chase to find the runaway groom and bring him back to the mandap.
She finally found him aboard a bus wearing a t-shirt and a pair of trousers near a police station outside Bareilly city limits. After a heated exchange that apparently lasted for 2 hours, the two families took the couple to a temple.
