It is a blessing to have your grandparents by your side and an even bigger gift to have them present on your wedding day!
Newlyweds Lyndsey and Tanner wanted their grandmothers to play a significant role at their wedding. So they twisted trends a little and asked their 4 grandmoms to be flower-girls for the ceremony, reports Mail Online.
According to Christian wedding traditions, ‘flower-girls’ are usually little girls who walk down the aisle scattering flowers before the bride during the procession.
“I knew as soon as I was engaged I wanted to involve my grandmothers. I felt so blessed to have them all here so I wanted them to be involved too,” the bride told HuffPost.
When she asked her grandmothers to be the flower-girls, they were “ecstatic” and probably happier than her bridesmaids!
The flower-girls included the bride’s 90-year-old great grandmother, her two grandmothers aged 76 and 72 years respectively, and the groom’s 70-year-old grandmother. They were all dressed in identical blue dresses with matching jackets, each holding a flower basket in their hands which read ‘Here comes the Bride’.
The great-grandmother walked down the aisle with the help of a walker which was again decorated with leaves! The pictures of the ceremony are beautiful, to say the least!
The wedding photographer, Natalie Caho said, “I’ve seen a lot of cute flower girls in my day…but these four gals take the cake.”
How much the grandmothers cherished and enjoyed being flower-girls is evident in their smiles. This makes me want to hug my grandma!
