While the whole world is aware of the presence of deadly monsters in the galaxy, named black holes, none of us had a photograph to support our imaginations about the massive mysterious spaces.
However, on April 10th, 2019, in a historic release, astronomers unveiled the first ever direct radio image of a gargantuan black hole at the heart of the galaxy M87. The researchers have also confirmed that the picture is not exactly of the black hole because these empty areas are so dark that they cannot be picturized. They are covered by impenetrable shields of gravity and not even light can pass through them.
We finally know what a black hole looks like: After decades of conjecture and simulations, an international consortium of scientists released the first ever photos of a black hole. https://t.co/qcKc8fliYq pic.twitter.com/lZgN0xw1wh

According to The Hindu, the picture revealed is instead a shadow of the enormous hole. We can see a bright ring formed as light bends in the intense gravity around the hole.
Just to give you a moment of shock, the hole which has been picturized with the help of an Event Horizon Telescope is believed to be 6.5 billion times bigger than the sun!
Keeping the informative part aside, the breakthrough image also became a subject of hilarious memes on Twitter. Here are the best ones.

Scientists have just released the first known pictures of an actual black hole. The gravity is so strong that no treats can escape, and it sucks people in from long distances to give belly rubs. #EHTBlackHole pic.twitter.com/GijUUVH6Pb
