Biker Rides Without A Helmet, Hyderabad Traffic Police Responds Hilariously On Twitter

We’ve all heard about the saying that rules are meant to be broken. And no one takes that saying more seriously than us Indians when we’re on the road. The zebra crossing is meant for people to walk on it, but you’ll see vehicles standing right on them. Indicators, if functional, are usually switched off to save battery power. Helmets are absent or are used to save the bike’s handle. However, one gentleman refused to wear it because it’s not manly enough. Now, that’s a first.

Hyderabad Traffic Police came across a biker named Krishna Reddy when they saw a photo of him without a helmet. Additionally, as his bike’s mudguard had the caption: ‘No helmet, I die like real men’, they decided to reach out to him with a hilarious tweet.

“We Are extremely sorry mr. krishna reddy sir. we won’t let u die. we will see that u ‘live like real me’. please wear helmet and ride.”

While a lot of riders roam around without helmets, Krishna made the grave mistake of flaunting his number plate. Hyderabad Traffic Police obviously cross-referenced it with their database and extracted his on-road history. Additional CP, Anil Kumar told Times of India that,

“The owner of the bike has a total of 10 challans pending against him. Seven challans are for violating helmet rule. We are trying a humorous and funny approach to warn people who are found violating the traffic rules to grab their attention. People are more responsive when police are friendly and funny.”

Hyderabad Traffic Police has been in the news recently due to their strict decision of arresting the parents of underage drivers. However, after this rib-tickling tweet, it looks like they’re ready to diverge from the norm in order to exact justice. I hope the people react in kind by understanding that these people are only trying to help them.
