Bihar Man Donates 6.25-Acre Land To His Elephants For Their Safety, Says They Are ‘Family’

The tragic death of a pregnant elephant in a village in Kerala had sparked tremendous outrage online. The gruesome incident raised a lot of questions regarding animal safety and basic humanity which the villagers allegedly lacked. Even though, after an investigation, the Environment Ministry claimed that the elephant had “accidentally” consumed the explosive-filled fruit meant for wild boars, the question still remains – are animals safe amidst humans?

Following the incident, a 50-year-old man from Bihar donated his entire 6.25-acre land to his two elephants, Moti and Rani, to ensure that they are safe and never hungry even after his death, reports News18.

The man, Mohammad Akhtar, reveals that he has lived with 20-year-old Moti and 15-year-old Rani since his childhood and they are like his “family members”.

In fact, Moti had even saved his life once.

“One day, while I was asleep there, I was woken up by Moti’s roar. I saw one man pointing his gun just outside the window. I ran away to save my life.”

People on the internet are filled with love and appreciation for the man, who despite receiving threats from his family, decided to register the land in the name of his elephants.

Kudos to the man for making a selfless effort to protect his elephants. Such people make the world a better, safer place for animals!
