Indians List Things Their Parents Used To Do To Them That They’d Never Do To Their Kids

In many Indian families, parents believe in tough love, a style of parenting that can be strict and disciplinary. This often includes physical punishment, strict rules, and being overprotective. While these methods are rooted in a desire for success and discipline, they can also lead to emotional strain and low self-esteem in children. Despite this, some parents believe that tough love is necessary to prepare their children for the challenges they’ll face in life.

However, people who have grown up with such parents can turn out to be two kinds of individuals – one, those who believe in the accuracy of tough love and two, those who wholeheartedly oppose such kind of parenting. The second kind wants to become kinder, more empathetic parents. And that means letting go of their own parents’ parenting styles.
