I think potatoes are the most versatile vegetables on the planet. These starchy spuds can be turned into crispy chips, curly fries and even golden hash browns. But the Idaho Potato Commission, with the help of a home developer Kristie Wolfe, turned one potato into the ‘Big Idaho Potato Hotel’. Okay, so it is not a real vegetable but one made out of steel, plaster, and concrete. BUT, it really is a hotel that can be rented on Airbnb.
According to Insider, it is 28 feet long, 12 feet wide, 11.5 feet tall and weighs 6 tons. Don’t judge it by its crude outer appearance though. It boasts of a pretty bedroom, bath, kitchenette, air conditioning, central heating and an indoor fireplace. What it doesn’t have, unfortunately, is TV and Wi-Fi.
For #EarthDay a 6 ton Idaho Potato has been officially recycled as an #Airbnb, now called the #BigIdahoPotatoHotel At this #grandopening! @kristiemaewolfe has been extremely successful with her tiny homes @MissIdaho @ninaaforest @BigIdahoPotato pic.twitter.com/dnsRykNcsG

When netizens heard about this bizarre hotel, they couldn’t believe their eyes. Also the ‘chips and dip’ jokes were inevitable.
Another thing I could FINALLY mark off my bucket list.

Most people aspire to stay at a penthouse, sea-facing villa or even a treehouse in the woods, but a potato hotel is not something I ever thought I would witness in my lifetime. Did you?
