India took a sigh of relief when the number of new cases in the country remained below 1 lakh. However, with 70,421 new cases reported today, the country’s total tally has gone up to 29,510,410, reported The Times Of India.
Whereas on the other hand, there have been only 1,813 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 1 death reported in Bhutan since the pandemic began, reports World Health Organisation.
Even though their numbers are negligible when compared to other countries, Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck hasn’t put his guard down. Recently, he was seen patrolling on foot at the borders to keep a tap at illegal crossings to prevent COVID-19.
Along with a couple of pictures, Tenzing Lamsang, the President of Media Association of Bhutan, tweeted that the king trekked 5 days in Bhutan’s eastern border areas through forests, rain, high passes, and leeches to prevent COVID-19. Apparently, this is his 14th or 15th trip to the borders during the pandemic.

In another tweet, Lamsang shared a month-old picture and wrote that the king has rarely got the chance to see his little kids since the first case in March 2020.
This picture below is almost a month long trip to Bhutan’s thickly forested southern border areas which His Majesty had just completed recently.

Bhutan's monarchy is far sighted and competent.Having proactively initiated the move towards democracy, the monarchs continue to play an important role, as can be seen here. The royal family has the people's love. Whenever one thinks of Bhutan, all one can say is "Nazar na lage!" https://t.co/NyWG7Cd7Vy

Now, this is something world leaders should learn from this king. What’s your opinion on this?
