Manipur Couple Name Baby Boy ‘Quarantino’ After He’s Born In A Quarantine Centre

COVID, Corona, Lockdown, Sanitiser. These are just a few names of babies born amid the pandemic. Yes, you read that right. Parents are actually naming their kids inspired by the viral outbreak. And, they all have a story behind it too!

Like, recently, a couple named their child ‘Quarantino’ as he was born in a quarantine center. The couple was placed under institutional quarantine in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district after they returned from Goa, reports the New Indian Express.

They were kept in a room at the Emmanuel School which was converted into a quarantine center amid the lockdown. Since the woman was at an advanced stage of pregnancy, she delivered her baby boy there itself. The couple decided to name their newborn Emmanuel Quarantino.

“As they are under quarantine and the name of the isolation center is Emmanuel School, they named the baby Emmanuel Quarantino,” an official was quoted saying. Weighing 3.2 kg, Quarantino is the first baby born at the quarantine center.

Honestly, while I understand the sentiments behind the name, it quite reminds me of Quentin Tarantino. What do you feel? Tell us in the comments below.
