Assam Shopkeeper Buys A Scooter But Pays For It Using Only ₹2, ₹5 & ₹10 Coins, Watch Video

When I was little, my grandmother had given me a piggybank for my birthday. She told me to save every little 1 or 2-rupee coin I was given by my parents. Every time I saved enough to buy myself an orange ice cream stick, I would take the money out to treat myself. Back then, I didn’t realise the significance of that piggybank, but now I do.

Piggybank savings can fulfil small and big wishes. For me, it was an ice cream stick. But for a man in Assam, it bought him his first-ever scooter. According to India Today, the man was able to buy a brand new scooter for himself after saving from his hard-earned money.

However, there’s a catch. He didn’t use a check or cash to make the payment. Instead, he had baskets filled with coins! The man, who is a shopkeeper, allegedly saved the coins in his piggy bank.

A Facebook user, Hirak J Das, posted pictures from the incident on social media and wrote, “Today a person bought a scooter with his savings (retail money) at Alpana Suzuki dealers of Barpeta. One word we can learn from this is that even if it takes a lot of money to fulfil a dream, sometimes it can be fulfilled with a little bit of money.”

The man paid for the vehicle using Rs 2, 5 and 10 coins. Have a look at the post here:

A video that captured the incident showed how the coins were kept inside cloth bags, which were pulled by men as it was so heavy. Then the coins were poured into plastic baskets followed by being counted by a few people. Have a look at the video here:

This proves that small savings go a long way. Hence, start small!
