Arbaaz Khan, Sohail, & Son Nirvaan Get Booked For Violating Covid-19 Protocols

The BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) has filed an FIR against actor-producer Arbaaz Khaan, Sohail Khan and his son Nirvaan Khan for violating the mandatory hotel quarantine rules for international flyers and misleading government officials. The hotel management told the BMC officials that the trio had not checked in for quarantine after returning from Dubai, following which a police complaint was filed against them.

Since such instances of negligence can potentially further the spread of the virus, the assistant municipal commissioner of the-West Ward wrote to the police seeking action against the 3 of them. An FIR was registered after the police recorded the BMC health officer’s statement under IPC Section 188 (Disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant) and Section 269 (Negligent act which is likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life).

The officials would further investigate whether their family members or friends have any COVID-19 symptoms, especially after Sohail’s brother Salman Khan celebrated his birthday on December 27, 2020.

Arbaaz, Sohail, and Nirvaan have now been placed under institutional quarantine at the Taj Lands End hotel in Bandra.

According to the Health Ministry’s norms, the people returning from or via Europe, the Gulf, or South African countries are required to undergo 7 days of mandatory quarantine at a hotel or BMC center. Once they test negative for coronavirus after these 7 days, they can be discharged, but need to home-quarantine themselves for 7 more days thereafter, TOI reports.

Let’s hope people take these precautions seriously and not consider themselves to be above all the rules and regulations.
