Living with anxiety is like living with a clingy monster that just won’t let go off of your back. It keeps you feeling uneasy, irritated and not just that! People with anxiety issues battle with a lot on daily basis and to the rest, their struggles are more often than not misconstrued as mood swings. Following is a list of many ways in which life sucks for the anxious lot.

1. Imaginary spiders keep crawling on your neck

And when physical discomfort gets to its peak, panic attack swoops in!

And people think there is some trouble with your sweat glands!

 

2. You are always checking for bogeyman hiding under your bed and table

“WHAT!.. WHAT’S that black thing under my bed! Oh okay, it is just a shoe box casting its shadow! Phew. ”

 

3. Failure to triple check doors is a disaster you bring upon yourself!

“Did I?! Let me take the next bus to home and check the door knob five more times.”

 

4. You can put on any clothes you want but the anxiety monster keeps finding faults!

“You look malnourished in this”, “your ass is popping out in this”, “what happened to your cool dress sense?”, “you should call in sick because no matter what you wear, you look sick”

 

5. And sweatshirts and sweatpants are your best friends for life

Because in these you feel comfortable like a baby who is happiest and most peaceful when he snuggles into his blanket. And when you run out of your jerseys and track pants, you start to hate your entire wardrobe! Because trying to get the clothes of the mature people right is a task that gets you anxious.

 

6. There is sufficient space on your right but you want to make your way through the many vehicles parked haphazardly on your left

You just can’t control this strange urge to get head-on with the not so easy situations.

 

7. But on the other hand, you can’t even send a single “Hi” text in one go!

“Should I click SEND?”, “Will he be able to understand the exact thought behind this message?”, ” Let me just keep reading it for 5 more minutes before clicking SEND”, “Let me just count till 5, no, till 10” “Okay! Somebody Press Send For Me!”

 

8. And when you don’t get a reply within seconds, you start screaming internally!

When you end up getting the much awaited reply, you feel that God loves you the best. When you don’t get the reply at all, you feel you have made the biggest fool out of yourself. And you keep contemplating on how the reader of the text would have judged you!

 

9. Whenever your boss calls you in their cabin, the nerves in your head start throbbing like crazy!

People think you are skin conscious. But water is a source of hydration for your throat that keeps drying off due to anxiety. Anxiety of not meeting the deadline, anxiety of reaching late to the airport, anxiety of losing your special someone. Anxiety Of Anxiety!

I will have to carry their dead body when the breeze will be cool and refreshing like it is today. My definition of a pleasant weather will change forever! You can’t sit still. You keep turning and twisting to see if you can catch their glimpse. You even keep calling them up to know if they are on their way to you or not. Because they are your security blanket and the entire hall full of unknown faces freaks the hell out of you.

They can never get what it feels like to wake up each morning with a strange heaviness in head and emptiness in gut. Or what it feels like to not be able to breathe smoothly and without inhaling and exhaling deeply every time a little something comes up. Even when everything is going perfect in an anxious person’s life, there is still something going on that is downright traumatizing. It is ANXIETY people.

What an anxious person expects is for you to be a little considerate. And you don’t have to understand their condition completely in order to feel considerate of their pain.
