Vivek Agnihotri Tries To Slam Anurag Kashyap By Sharing Misquoted Headline, Gets Called Out

We all know how in recent years, movies from South Indian film industries like the Kannada or Telugu film industries have been performing way better across India than Bollywood films. Movies like ‘RRR’ and ‘Pushpa’ are proof of that.

In a recent interview, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap pointed out that trying to make pan-India movies nowadays has become a trend. For example, the Marathi movie ‘Sairat’ was a pan-India hit. So every film industry in the country wanted to make a ‘Sairat’, reported Economic Times. Bollywood made ‘Dhadak’, but it failed to perform as well as ‘Sairat’ did.

Kashyap tried to say that in the process of trying to copy South movies, Bollywood is ruining itself because it has let go of originality. South films like ‘Kantara’ and ‘Pushpa’ had the courage to say original stories and hence, they were successful. But the moment other industries begin to emulate them, they fail.

“Films like Kantara and Pushpa give you the courage to go out and tell your stories. But KGF 2, however big the success, when you try and emulate that and set a project up, that’s when you start heading towards disaster. That’s the bandwagon that Bollywood destroyed itself on. You have to find films that give you courage,” he said.

However, one particular article completely misquoted Anurag Kashyap and wrote in its headlines, “Films like Kantara and Pushpa are destroying the industry: Anurag Kashyap.”

Any person can simply Google search and find out that this headline was a misquote and far from the truth. But not the ‘Kashmir Files’ maker Vivek Agnihotri. According to Times Now, he shared a screenshot of the article headline and tweeted slamming Kashyap, “I totally totally disagree with the views of Bollywood’s one and only Milord. Do you agree?”

But AK soon hit back. He sarcastically took a dig at Agnihotri’s research skills and tweeted:
