‘Deep-Rooted In Culture’ Raveena Tandon Says Why South Films Work So Well Across India

Films like ‘RRR’, ‘KGF’, ‘Pushpa’ and ‘Baahubali’ have left a huge mark across the country. Not only were they massive financial successes, but they also found loyal fans amongst the Hindi-speaking audience. Earlier, ‘KGF’ actor Yash shared his thoughts on why South films work so well in the North.

And now, Raveena Tandon shared her thoughts too. She claimed that South films have an “advantage” because their tradition and culture are deep-rooted in their films.

ETimes quoted her saying:

“I’ve done a lot of South films even in the 90s and even now. In fact, I think they’re always at an advantage because they keep their traditions, their rituals, their culture so deep-rooted and woven into their stories that it always hits with the masses.”

She went on to add that the audience are able to identify with the characters, which is something very important for filmmakers to make note of.

“The masses always identify with their characters and that is something very important that I think filmmakers should keep in mind and that is to not go away from what your mass audience wants and that is something which they’ve always kept alive,” Raveena said.

Do you think that films from down South are better than Bollywood films?
