When Alia Bhatt announced her pregnancy back in June, she faced immense criticism for getting pregnant two months into her marriage by several people online. There were speculations of her getting pregnant before marriage and hence, they “rushed” the wedding. Basically, there was a lot of noise. Alia had addressed these criticisms too and called it “mindless chatter”.

However, on Sunday when Alia and Ranbir finally welcomed their baby into this world, many celebrities congratulated them. One of them was Kamaal R Khan, or KRK as he’s well known. But in his congratulatory tweet, he found it necessary to mention that she gave birth 7 months after marriage.

Thankfully, there were sensible and non-judgemental people online who called KRK out and asked him to mind his own business. Of course, people are not stupid and they understood that his mentioning “within 7 months” of marriage (and not 9) was a verbal attack on the couple.

After facing such backlash, KRK further tweeted that it is normal for babies to be born “premature”, trying to completely change the subject.

No the problem is your intent which people understood clearly. And it’s pretty okay to get pregnant before marriage. It’s okay to have a child without marriage. It’s your life!

Whether a couple has or doesn’t have a baby, whether it is inside or outside a marriage, whether they are trying to have a baby or refuse to have one altogether is entirely the couple’s decision. Haters can keep their snide remarks and hostility to themselves.
