There are two types of Dhoni fans in the world. The first kind that marvels at his elasticity and sensational diving skills from a distance. And the other, that breaches security to meet the cricketer. Last month a fan ran towards the pitch in a T20 match against New Zealand and we were able to witness Mahi’s quick reflexes in preventing the tricolour from touching the ground. When it happened again during a Nagpur match, Dhoni turned it into a ‘run and chase’ game.
Yesterday, at a Chennai Super Kings’ practice game in MA Chidambaram Stadium, history repeated itself. A fan trespassed security only to have Dhoni jokingly run away from him.

The pitch invader was caught by security personnel soon enough but before he was taken away, Mahi obliged him by shaking his hand. The team was in Chepauk practising for IPL 2019 when the incident occurred.
Everyone loved how Dhoni handled the situation with his usual sense of humour. Here are some of the best reactions to the video.

While everyone enjoyed how Dhoni made a run for it and made the fan chase him, CSK’s Twitter handle has urged fans not to try this stunt in the future. Security is in place at the stadiums for a reason, isn’t it?
