Mahendra Singh Dhoni isn’t new to the act of fans gatecrashing a match to meet him on the field. But whether it was a tense IPL match, the Vijay Hazare Trophy or an international tussle with New Zealand, he has dealt with them calmly and respectfully. However, during India’s latest match with Australia, Dhoni decided to make things a bit exciting for the fan who had entered the grounds.
After putting up a well-fought 250 on the scoreboard, when India re-entered the fields, a fan came in running. And given how he was wearing a ‘Thala’ t-shirt, it was pretty clear who he had come to meet. But Dhoni made sure that his task wasn’t that easy.
We all know about Dhoni’s pace while running between the wickets or while preventing others to run between the wickets. But this time the fan saw it in action as the former skipper went in circles as if to avoid him. And the fan did a pretty good job of keeping up and eventually earned a hug from Dhoni.

Netizens lauded MS Dhoni’s sense of humour and LOL’d at the fans attempts to catch him.

Incredible scenes to start the second innings as MS Dhoni is chased around the ground by a pitch invader. All looked in good fun until the trespasser went up to Virat Kohli, who was not amused. Old mate has been escorted off the field #INDvAUS

However, one Twitter user reminded that this could’ve turned into a serious security issue.
It's embarrassing to constantly see Indian fans do shit like this and it gets lauded as "passion" and "love for the game". Nah to hell with that, you're an idiot if you indulge in pointless BS like this and you deserve to be persecuted for breaking rules, not lauded! #INDvAUS https://t.co/2PkI5YmKOy

Most celebrities and politicians who claim to be a people’s person surround themselves with bodyguards. But Dhoni is a rare specimen who shows how much he loves and cares for his fans through his actions. And in my opinion everyone should emulate this quality of his if they want to be a role model for future generations.
