The Kissing Duration Was Increased For No Reason: Zareen Khan Blasts ‘Aksar 2’ Makers!

Bollywood and its corridors, if you haven’t noticed already, are ripe with stories where sexism, hypocrisy and favouritism play out more than the central characters. Now, we might sit across from each other and condone issues like wage-gap but the bigger evil of objectification (of women) still lurks the corners and it is plain sad, TBH!

It is regressively archaic that even after so many years of showbiz, trade experts rely less on scripts and more on scantily-clad women, dancing and luring men into the theatres. No, I’m not here to detest dance routines that the plot demands but I’m sorry- I don’t particularly enjoy seeing fellow-women being reduced to objects of desire.

In another such example, Zareen Khan has exposed makers of her next film, ‘Aksar 2’ who she accused, ill-treated her till the last day. 

It all began when reports of Zareen Khan being mistreated by a mob during a promotional event for the film in Delhi did the rounds. And the makers issued a statement alleging that Zareen is ‘unprofessional.’ They said,

“She backed out of all her commitments leaving aside the press conference and a sponsor visit. She did not even complete a day of promotions, which troubled the makers to a point where they had to compensate a huge amount of money and were harassed and threatened till the wee hours of the morning.”

“The bit about her almost getting molested, is absolutely untrue, as she left the venue throwing tantrums arguing with the sponsors as she did not want to stay or eat there.”

“This is not the first time that Zareen has troubled the filmmakers. She has put them in a fix many a time and made them suffer losses,” they added.

But Zareen has a different story altogether. In an exclusive to SpotboyE, the actress has revealed that producer and director had no clue of what they were making, instead, they put her in a tough spot, demanding to dress a certain way. 

“Why was this masala being added? The producer (Varun Bajaj) and director (Ananth Narayan Mahadevan) were completely clueless what they wanted from this film.”

She even added that her stylist was harrowed because they wanted a change in her clothes, demanding her to expose. On top of it, her entire staff has been not paid!

Upon being asked if she wasn’t happy with certain parts of the film, Zareen revealed that she was upset with kissing scenes, and especially that they refused to show her the film when it was ready. 

“It was about certain angles that blur the line of looking sensuous and vulgar. They added close-ups to wide-angle shots to retakes and what not- and the result is for you to see. They didn’t even invite me on Thursday evening at the Palladium screening, did they think that I would never get to see the film?”

“The kissing duration was increased for no rhyme or reason.”

Speaking of the night that caused all the ruckus, Zareen called out the makers for being irresponsible. In fact, she alleged that they were busy partying while she was trying to fulfil her obligations.

While moral compass can’t be the judge of credibility, it is imperative to look at the claims in the purview of the plague that has been infesting the industry for a long time now. What do you think?
