Rishi Kapoor Slams A Distasteful Cartoon That Mocked The Fire At RK Studios In ONE Tweet

Rishi Kapoor has been hailed the King of Twitter controversies as he never fails to grab eyeballs and extract reactions from people with his rather explosive nature which is quite evident in his tweets too.

He has time and again engaged in a Twitter spat with other users, teaching them manners to talk to elders and abusing them. Even Rahul Gandhi was not spared from the wrath of Chintuji when he took his name while talking about dynasty politics in India.

However, Rishi Kapoor has been acting in a sombre fashion owing to the recent fire that broke out in RK Studios which cost the Kapoor khandaan generations worth of memorabilia.

But Manjul Toons, a cartoonist, found a way to tickle the sleeping lion when he published a cartoon about the recent fire in RK Studios. A Twitter user brought Rishi Kapoor’s attention to the cartoon.

The cartoon showed Raj Kapoor in heaven looking down on the raging fire and referencing his debut film ‘Aag’ as the starting point of the generation’s inclination to Bollywood. However, Rishi Kapoor took offence to the cartoon and dubbed it “sick”.

As you may be well aware, the Kapoor family was heart-broken and shaken up after the fire claimed all of the memorabilia which had been passed down for generations and Rishi Kapoor was in remorse.

8. Insensitive expression of art?

9. Some advice for the star.

While a lot of users stood up with Rishi Kapoor to condemn the cartoon, some people defended the intentions of the cartoonist with his portrayal of the tragedy.

While the incident of the fire in RK Studios was tragic to say the least, the intentions of the cartoonist may not have been to cause hurt to an already grieving family. There are few instances when Twitter has come out in support of Rishi Kapoor and this is one of them.
