Seven Times Gold-Medalist Is Forced To Sell Tea And Raveena Tandon Is Not Taking It Lying Down

There are heroes we see on screen and then there are heroes who toil day and night to represent India and win glory for the nation. I’m talking about the athletes who go out of their way, dedicating their entire lives to bring home gold. But what are we doing in return? In return for their countless efforts and struggles, both personal and professional? NOTHING.

The reason I say this is not because I’m a cynic but because reality has left me no other choice.

In a disheartening episode, National level champion, Santosh who has won seven gold medals in powerlifting is now selling tea to feed her family. She said,

Talking about her hardship, a dejected Santosh said, 

I was injured while training and had to discontinue Powerlifting. I won many championships, I want the govt should give me a job- Santosh pic.twitter.com/0egWZU7iFq

While most went on with their routine lives, actress Raveena Tandon was the only one who tried to make a difference. She went ahead and tagged the women representatives of the country- Maneka Gandhi, Shaina NC and Sushma Swaraj.
