Losing one’s pet is like losing a part of your heart. Ask me, I’ve lost two of my doggos in the past year. The feeling of heartbreak is never ending and you don’t even have your best friend to comfort you.
This teacher, Gemma Dunne was stressed out about going back to work after her dog had passed away. She was devastated by the loss of putting her beloved Charlie to sleep.
According to Evening Times, after the tragic incident the teacher dreaded going back to St Michael’s Primary School where she taught.
However, one boy made it easier for her to get back on her feet.
Callum, her pupil managed to cheer her up by writing a touching letter about the dog when she got back to the classroom. He wrote a poem on Charlie and gave it to her saying,
“To Mrs Dunne, sorry if you don’t like it or it makes you emotional.”
In the letter he tried to cheer up his teacher by saying that Charlie was cheeky, happy, adorable, relative, lucky, incredible and energetic.
Mrs. Dunne’s daughter shared the letter on Twitter saying, “Mum’s been so upset about the dog being put to sleep and stressing about having to go back into school today, and she got this from a wee boy in her class.”

Callum scribbled a heartfelt letter to his teacher so that he could make the pain of her heart a little lesser.
I love how he ends with, “Your dog is in a better place and is looking over you.” Doggo heaven, that’s what I keep telling myself!
Aww Callum, you broke my heart but helped mend it too!
The letter instantly went viral, with people sharing and retweeing it.

So sad to hear about the dog–but bless little Callum! I hope that he stays sweet even when he grows up–the world needs people like him. His parents are bringing him up well. x

It’s difficult losing your four legged furrball. They love you unconditionally, spend so much of their time by the door waiting for you and just have adoration beyond words. While that bond remains strong, it’s a sudden emptiness that fills your house and heart that leaves you feeling so lonely.
However, what Callum did to cheer his teacher makes me think about the innocence and love that children habour within them. Maybe the world isn’t such a big, bad place after all! ❤
