Artist Creates Henna Crowns For Cancer Patients Showing The Healing Power Of Art And Nature

Indian henna or Mehendi, as we call it, is intricately pretty and quite a craze in the west. But you know what’s prettier? Henna crowns on the shaved scalps of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Doing a remarkable job, Sarah Walters who owns a Seattle-based company Sarahenna  which offers henna services for special occasions usually – paints henna crowns on the heads of cancer patients for free, out of her own home.

Exciting news (and this isn't all, so stay tuned)! Evening Magazine, the Seattle area NBC news magazine, contacted me recently to talk to me about my henna crowns. They did a short interview with me and fabulous Lauren, and filmed me applying a crown for her. I am not a fan of being on camera and am pretty sure I was awkward; but it was a fun experience and I'm excited to watch. If you're local, tomorrow night you can tune in to @king5evening at 7:30 PM (channel 5) TONIGHT, Tuesday 11/22. Thank you to the amazing @ariannascottmakeup for her hair and makeup magic, which I don't have a clue how to do myself! 😂 #hennacrown #sarahenna #henna #king5evening #seattlehenna #Kirkland #seattle #bothell #sankaraimports #ariannascott #Repost @kimholcomb ・・・ Shooting a story about @sarahennaseattle, who creates stunning #hennacrowns for women undergoing chemo. ❤️

The henna used is made of safe, plant-based paste and the designs are very artistic.

It gives the cancer patients freedom to express themselves without hair. For them it’s body art.

Sarah makes her clients feel comfortable and pampered.

Walters feels that henna can provide a them a positive experience,

“positive and uplifting experience during a time that is often filled with worry and stress.”

And we have no doubts about that.

Sarah has been doing this for quite a while now and we think it’s pretty commendable.

She creates really pretty designs for them and they simply love it.

What she’s doing for cancer patients undergoing chemo is pretty damn wonderful!
