Forgotten National Shooter Saves Kidnapped Brother-In-Law In A Nail-Biting Turn Of Events

There is no better way to say it, but in our county, cricket is deemed as a religion and other sports lose light because of such an obsession. Things are changing now, you argue but are they?

Remember when Abhinav Bindra lashed out at NRAI when 13 13 professional Indian shooters were detained at the Delhi airport? Or, do you remember Santosh, the powerlifting champion? She won 7 gold medals for India and now sells tea to earn a lively hood.

Of course, you don’t remember! No one remembers.

Another such forgotten player is Ayisha Falaq, who won a gold for the country in 2015. Last week, her brother-in-law, Asif Falaq was abducted by two men and she used her licensed revolver to rescue him.

Asif Falaq who is a cab driver in Haryana, was supposed to pick up two men from Dariyaganj on Thursday night at around 10PM to drop them at Shastri Nagar. But when he arrived on spot, they overpowered him and abducted him.

As Asif only has ₹150 in his pocket, they took him to to a village, Bhopra, near the Haryana border and demanded a ransom of ₹25,000 from his family.

Hero woman Ayisha and her husband Falaq Sher Alam informed the police about the kidnapping and went to Shastri Park, where the abductors had called them.

Ayisha took her licensed revolver on the mission too. After seeing his brother and sister-in-law, 21-year-old Asif ran towards them and before the abductors could do anything, Ayisha shot them on the foot and the waist, respectively.

The police came and arrested both the abductors who were trying to flee the scene. Senior officer Ravindra Yadav spoke to NDTV and praised Ayisha Falaq. He said –

“It is a very brave effort. It was past midnight and since she is a national-level shooter, her aim was real good.”

Superwoman Ayisha isn’t fearful, she stepped out there and saved an innocent life. She is not just a hero for Asif, but all women out there, who think they are less than anyone.

Take cue from Mrs. Falaq, you can be a hero if you want to.

Ayisha is a national HERO for a reason.
