Dehradun Woman Tries To Impress Her Delhi Relatives By Stealing A Car, Gets Caught By Police

Indian relatives are very hard to impress. For generations, they’ve set the bar high and just when you think you’ve reached it, you’ll find that it has gone up by another notch. You can get A+ in all your subjects, find a job with a huge salary or even become a superstar in your profession, but rarely will they crack a smile and say “well done”. And that might make people desperate for approval just like it did to Sapna.

According to Hindustan Times, Subham Sharma, a taxi driver from Dehradun was taking two women and a man from Dehradun to Palam in Delhi. And according to Deputy commissioner of police, Monika Bhardwaj, that’s where things went south.

“He said on October 3, the trio robbed him of his car at gunpoint near the Moolchand flyover. After we received information that on Saturday, two people who were allegedly involved in this car jacking will come near Keshopur Mandi, we intercepted a man and a woman, who were travelling on a motorcycle.”

After the police caught the two, they were identified as Gazal (also known as Sapna), from Chakradharpur in Jharkhand. And her associate’s name is Vansh Varman, from Sangam Vihar in Delhi. Both of them are 26 years old.

The police interrogated them and that’s where they came to know that the bike they were using was stolen and the pistol they had used was supplied by a man in Raghubir Nagar. The DCP said,

“Sapna disclosed that she belongs to a poor family and was married in 2009. She had some dispute with her husband. She later started living with Varma in Dehradun. She said she had to attend her brother’s wedding in her village in Jharkhand and wanted to impress her family members.”

So, Sapna teamed up with her friends Kajal (from Roorkee) and Varma and allegedly robbed Shubham’s car. Sapna further said that they had changed the car’s number plate in Varma’s house in Sangam Vihar, but their gig was upended due to the GPS device in the car.

Life itself presents so many different hurdles that we should refrain from adding some of our own. So, maybe we can stop running in this hypothetical race where we’re trying to “impress” each other with materialistic objects and help each other in various ways. Let’s hope Sapna had her friends have learnt a lesson and will never attempt a stunt like this again.
