According To Swami Swaroopananda, Women Who Enter Shani Temples Will Invite Rape

Shani Shingnapur, a temple in Maharashtra, had it’s doors closed to women for 400 years. Until one day, when Trupti Desai, an activist, challenged the temple’s right to do so.

Following the court order on 1st April, the temple decided to lift their 400 year old rule and opened the doors to women as well.

Even though legally there isn’t much they can say about it, one ‘gyaani’ Swami Swaroopananda of Dwaraka-Sharda Peeth did not fail to give his opinion on the matter.

According to his ‘infinite wisdom’, if women worship Shani, the incidents of rape will increase. Ok, then.

And his ‘words of wisdom’ did not end there, instead he offered us women an alternative, “If they worship Saturn (Shani), the incidents of rape will increase. They should have prayed that the people who indulge in alcoholism must not violate women. What will shani do for them?”.

Yes clearly, the question of, ‘Whom to pray to?’ is what keeps us women up at night.

Trupti Desai, lashed out at Swami Swaroopananda saying, “We have won half the battle and second half is for changing the mindset of the people.”

Though this one might be a tough nut to crack. This isn’t even the first time he’s said something so ridiculous.

Just recently Shankaracharya preached that Maharashtra’s drought problems boil down to worshiping Sai Baba, who isn’t a real God, but a Fakir.

Shankaracharya claimed, “Calamity strikes and such places suffer drought, flood, death or fear, where those unworthy of worship are worshipped. Maharashtra is currently facing all of these.”

Because rain and climate change have no hand in Maharashtra’s drought, it’s all really about Sai Baba.

“Kya?”
“BAKWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS”
