Love is simple. But the circumstances in which love happens can be complicated. You might find the kind of love you are looking for at an unexpected time. And the person you end up falling for can be the last person you ever thought of.
Similarly, one woman took to Reddit to share her love story which is all shades complicated. She is 36 years old and has a 6-year-old daughter with her husband who is 38 years old and is cheating on her with his 30-year-old employee. She found out after his mistress’ husband called her up one day to inform her.
“I found out a year ago that my husband is sleeping with his employee (f30), How? her husband, let’s call him J (m35) contacted me. He was heartbroken and he thought that I ought to know. He provided me with text messages and dates when they’d been in hotels. I recognized my husband’s style and I recognized the other woman. I have seen her on multiple occasions when I visited my husband at work. She’d been nothing but kind and pleasant towards me and she always doted on my daughter,” she wrote.
However, the woman decided not to take any serious action immediately for multiple logical reasons. She lost her job to the pandemic, which meant that she wouldn’t be able to provide for her daughter thereby, giving her husband full custody. But for the past two years, she had been undergoing an educational course, post the completion of which she would get a job and then she could take appropriate action against her husband.
She requested the woman’s husband to not take action as well, and he agreed. However, the two started to speak more often over the phone and not much about their failing marriages. Then, they started to go out for coffee, movies and picnics.
“I found myself thinking about him often with a smile on my face. He was the first thing I thought of in the morning and the last thing I thought of before going to bed. For the last 3-4 months we probably mentioned our spouses once or twice. We talk about everything else. and he always makes me laugh,” she wrote.
In one such picnic, the two confessed their feelings for each other – they were both in love.
“We were having a picnic and he just blurted out, ‘I think that I’m in love with you’. When he then explained himself it just drove the point home that I also am in love with him. He said that at first, he wasn’t sure why he was feeling like this towards me and explained it away as two jilted people finding comfort in each other but that he then realized that he wasn’t broken anymore. that he even thinks of his wife’s infidelity as a blessing because it led him to me. That was exactly how I felt too.”
Even though she decided not to take things to the next step before separating from her husband, she is sure that she wants a future with the new guy. However, she has doubts about whether she will be doing the right thing. You can read the full post here.
