Internet is teeming with adorable cats and dog videos that often make you go “awww”, have a smile on your face and have the rest of the day slightly better for watching a happy video. But such videos are even more special when the animals involved aren’t your household pets, but the ones out in the wild.
One such video has surfaced featuring a deep-sea diver, Ben Burville, and his new friend from the wild –a Grey Seal. The seal not only appears to shake hands with the diver, but also responds to head scratches and tickles. The diver was quite surprised at the unfolding of this encounter as he reportedly shared that the seal wasn’t tamed, it was a wild one.
Ben Burville who is also a medical doctor, shared with the video that, “To those who may be critical of any contact, please understand that the seal is 100% in control of any underwater encounters.” The video was filmed off the coast of Northumberland, England where Ben Burville was accompanied by a cameraman.
Following the video, a tweet also was released, making sure to advise divers to avoid touching the seals on their own. The tweet suggested that the Grey Seal is an animal with sharp teeth and strong jaws, and it might attack in retaliation.
