Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are hitting the newsstands, just the way RoHIT Sharma is hitting ’em centuries and double centuries. After wowing us in their Sabyasachi’s designs at their wedding, Virushka chose the designer’s collection for their reception too. They looked abso-effing-lutely regal in it.
The ace designer shared on his Instagram the vision and the details about the couple’s look. First off, Anushka’s benarasi saree was a push to the Indian handloom industry and how indigenous people of Benaras will see a boom in the sale of benarsis.
After seeing their thoughtful reception invites, we are sure that this too would be a conscious decision on Virushka’s part.
But nuff’ about the bride, let’s talk about the groom here for a sec (or more). Virat, too, wore a Sabyasachi and looked too dapper. Mr. Mukherjee described how the groom complemented the bride. He said,
“Virat chose to complement his new bride in a very subtle and elegant manner. He wore a black textured silk signature bandhgala with the house buttons in 18k gold and a white silk kurta with hand-woven brocade churidaar. He teamed it with mojris from the Sabyasachi accessories line and a hand-embroidered antique Pashmina shawl from our ‘Kashmir Revival’ project.”
Yeah, thoughtful na. Wait a sec! Did I read it right? 18K gold buttons? :O
One 18K button is worth anything between ₹30,000 to ₹50, 000, so six of them must be worth around ₹3 Lakh (making costs and other taxes included). Wow!
That’s something, huh. He’s India’s richest cricketer ffs and of course, he can afford it. While his Nushie’s sporting jewelry worth a bomb, he has to complement the beauty in his subtle way, right?
Oh, BTW, in case you were wondering how much did Anushka’s heritage uncut diamond choker and jhumkas from the Sabyasachi Bridal Jewelry collection cost, then, someone told Times Now, that the gorgeous choker-jhumka set costs approximately ₹25- 30 lakh.
