Anyone who has the faintest idea of what a jail is, they’ll know that it’s meant to keep criminals away from the society and make them pay for their deeds. However, if Paddington 2 is your only source of knowledge of how a jail looks like, you might think everyone’s partying and making marmalade in there.
Well, given the evidence that’s coming out of an Uttar Pradesh jail, I can’t exactly say that you’re wrong. Except for the marmalade-making part.
Bharat Samachar TV journalist Abhay Singh Rathore recently posted a video that showed a bunch of criminals in a Raebareli jail in Uttar Pradesh partying and even giving out death threats.

According to News18, the matter is being investigated after DM Sanjay Kumar Khatri and SP Sujatha Singh received the aforementioned video and performed a surprise raid.
As of now, FIRs against the five criminals have been lodged in Sadar Kotwali. In addition to that, they’ve been transferred to different jails that are located in Sultanpur, Barabanki, Fatehpur and Pratapgarh.
Netizens who saw this video were rightfully shocked as it showed the worst section of the society enjoying, instead of facing the consequences of the crimes they’ve committed.

Every common citizen of India is out there working for a living, paying their taxes and navigating through the hundreds of rules that are imposed upon them. So, let’s hope for their sake that the UP government pulls up their socks and gets their justice system in shape.
