This UK Man Only Wears 200-Year-Old Period Clothing, Sets Major Style Goals

The world of fashion is constantly evolving. There are changes in designs, aesthetics, fabrics, embroidery, silhouettes and more. Every once in a while though, an old (read retro) trend resurfaces and becomes a hit all over again. Chokers from the 90s made a comeback, as did boot cut jeans. But this man has taken his liking for vintage clothing to a whole new level.

According to BBC News, Zack MacLeod Pinsent, a 25-year-old resident of UK wears only historically accurate period clothing inspired from the 1800s. He has turned his back on modern apparel altogether! Yup, no jeans and no tees!

It all started when Zack was 14 years old. He found some of his great-grandfather’s old suits from that era and tried them on. And the rest, as they say, is history (pun intended).

Now he designs and tailors these clothes himself and also takes orders from clients. His workshop is based out of Brighton, East Sussex.

Outerwear . Day 10 of #gentlemanswardrobe is outerwear. This consists of #cloaks , #wool Garrick coats and really any garment worn over a #frockcoat or #tailcoat. These serve the same function as today, keeping someone warm and protected from the weather. On the right you have a caped greatcoat sometimes called a Garrick coat, Coachmans coat or travelling coat. On the left you have a military inspired fully vintage fur lined coat from green wool with gold braid and toggles. Useful and practical garments that could work even with modern clothing. . Would you take the plunge and add this to your Winter wardrobe? #regency #dandy #firstempireproblems #napoleonic #georgian #historicalfashion #tailor #tailored #periodtailoring #gaystagram #mensfashion #tailoring #regencyfashion #smallbusiness #madeinengland #regencydandy #periodtailor #historicalclothing #tailormade #periodfashion #bespoke #tophat #malemodel #historicaltailoring

The Sun reports that when he was in 6th grade, he began wearing retro suits and quoted him saying that,

“I decided to burn my only jeans on a bonfire. It was a real turning point.”

Zack also revealed that the aesthetic of that period’s clothing fascinates him. He often sports top hats, coats with gold detailing and large buttons.

“It’s hard for men to show exuberance. But I love what I do and do it for my enjoyment.”

As far as the response from passers-by is concerned, he says

“People in the street are almost always positive.”

Here are more of his designs. Take a look.
