Let’s admit it, we all love discounts. We’re incentivised to buy innumerable things by just having them on discount. Think about the times when you’re browsing through an online store and end up adding the most random items to your cart just because they’ve got deep discounts. And hey, I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with it. It’s a great feeling when you know you’ve bought something without paying full price for it.
Most recently, dealerships across the country are offering several bikes and cars at deep discounts of up to ₹22K and ₹50K, respectively. The move was triggered as a result of the Supreme Court announcement banning the sale of BS-III vehicles from the 1st of April.
Reportedly, dealers have about 8.25 lakh units of inventory from brands like Hero Motocorp, Bajaj and Honda Motor Company to get rid of by the end of today before the ban kicks in.
For the readers with an exceeding curious soul, BS-III is an Indian emission standard which stands for ‘Bharat Stage 3’. Phasing out of this old standard to make way for BS-IV has been long overdue.
Finally, the SC has gone ahead and done it, leading to BS-III vehicles being available at dirt cheap prices (just for today).
And just to clarify, while you won’t be able to purchase BS-III vehicles after 31st March, those that are purchased on the day can still be registered in April.
So if you’ve been looking to buy a vehicle, there’s no better time than right now.
