Tanushree Dutta To Shed Light On Bollywood’s Sexual Harassment Stories Through A Short Film

B-town’s #MeToo movement has churned up shocking names each fortnight, yet we can’t forget who started it all. What began with Tanushree Dutta’s accusations against Nana Patekar have now taken on new life. The actor who is currently in New Jersey has sought to reiterate the gravity and seriousness of the harassment in her own little way.

Dutta is all set to bring B-town’s sexual harassment stories to the silver screens. The venture is an upcoming short film titled- Inspiration. Set to hit the screens on March 8 it’s meant to make a mark on International Women’s Day.

“It deals with the issue of willful exploitation of young newcomers in showbiz or any other field where they don’t have mentors or guidance,” says Dutta according to Mid-Day.

However, she doesn’t reveal whether the film is based on reality. “It is a new format where reality meets fiction,” she says going on to speak of the Atul Bhalla-directed venture. It was shot when she was in Mumbai for 8 months in 2018.

“I play a guardian angel who inspires the girls to make the right decision,” Tanushree reveals.

It is a passion project for her insights have clearly helped shape the script.

“I wrote the dialogues, inspired by my own insight and understanding on the matter. I was excited to face the camera after nine years because this time, I was not only entertaining but also imparting wisdom to the misled and unfortunate,” Dutta added.

We wish the actor luck with her short film and hope it does empower harassment victims in every industry to stand up for themselves!
