Taapsee Pannu Opens About How She Was Harassed As A Teen And Sends Out A Powerful Message

We have all had our fair share of struggles of being a girl. We have been always told to wear the right clothes, come home on time and to sit and behave properly. While we have a list of do’s and dont’s, why not boys?

Actress Taapsee Pannu, opened up about ‘being touched at the wrong places’ when she was 19 years old and used to travel in Delhi local buses to college.

“eve-teasing used to happen almost daily. Not just that, I have been touched inappropriately in DTC buses. Rubbed at wrong places while in a bus.”

Taapsee spoke to Indian Express and also said that for a long time she believed that it was her mistake, she was not wearing the right clothes or was just at the wrong places.
 

She said that instead of raising voice or being outraged by such behaviour of people, she started running from it. 

“Our upbringing is such that we are told don’t go here, don’t do this, don’t wear so and so clothes, don’t travel to a particular place. It feels as if I am committing a wrong.”

She adds that these lists of right and wrong are only fed to women growing up in this country.
 

Taapsee who is appearing in the movie Pink alongside Mr. Amitabh Bachchan which also sends a strong message for women in the country.

It takes a lot of courage to open about the wrong that has happened. Every women in this country should know that it’s not her fault and should voice against every wrong doing.
