Swara Claps Back At Suchitra Krishnamoorthi Slamming Her For Speaking Against Padmaavat

Swara Bhasker has always been upfront regarding her bold stance and has been unapologetically speaking her mind for as long as we can remember. Whether it is slamming journos for shaming Zaira Wasim, or her appeal to women to defend themselves against predators, she has never held back.

She recently did the same when she penned an open letter for Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’, a film which has been embroiled in controversy since its inception.

Despite the film acquiring praises from all sides, Swara wrote that the director has glorified Jauhar in his film. She added that this regressive stance of women killing themselves without even a social critique has made her feel like a ‘vagina’.

She also insinuated that Swara’s offence against the film was uncalled for as it is a period drama and added,

But, if you thought Swara was going to take that lying down, you got another thing coming. In keeping with her nature, she clapped right back to the former actress and wrote,

While a lot of people jumped to her defence, there were others who also argued that her earlier movies were much more regressive as they were based in the modern world. We wonder where this fiasco will end.
