The Indian Army recently conducted a surgical strike on terrorist launchpads positioned close to the LoC in Pakistan. The response to the strikes was overwhelmingly positive with Indian twitter calling it India’s version of Zero Dark Thirty. However, some pertinent questions still remain on my mind. What exactly is a surgical strike? And how were these surgical strikes really conducted?
A surgical strike is basically a rapid attack conducted on a very specific target with a view to eliminating them while keeping collateral damage to a minimum. Such surgical neutralisation of targets proves useful when the nation does not want things to escalate into an all-out war.
Now that you understand the basics, here is a 13 step coverage of the surgical attacks carried out by the Indian Army across the LoC in Pakistan.Â

The surgical strike was certainly a success, sending a powerful message to the terrorists that India cannot be taken for granted. If they try anything like Uri again, India will retaliate!
