Accept it, we have all made fun of our teachers. While harmless jokes are okay, trolling, abusing, and making lives harder for teachers in the name of fun is not. Especially at a time when classes are being conducted online, which is particularly hard for elderly teachers who aren’t technologically sound, making fun of their lack of technical knowledge is disgraceful.
Calling out such students who troll and abuse their teachers during online classes, one guy posted a fictional story on Facebook about how hard conducting online classes is for elderly teachers. Even though the post is fictional, it is by no means far from reality.
Have a look at the post here:
The post soon went viral for its important message and people online have been sharing real-life stories of teachers who are facing the same kind of difficulty.
Many people expressed disappointment over how their parents, who are teachers, are being subjected to such crude behavior, highlighting how it breaks their confidence and takes a toll on their mental health.

I can totally relate to this as my dad is a teacher and always faced issues while using technologies. He asks for help from me and my sisters. I am relieved that he has not got this filthy experience of abuses. I can't even imagine him being in such situations. It breaks my heart

Plenty of hassled teachers videos are shared on YouTube and Whatsapp. It's so heartbreaking! Makes me think that do such students really deserve education? It also shows the problem with the education system, where decency is taught only through fear, which doesn't work.

Teachers try their level best to get accustomed to the new technology even if they are not well aware of how to use it, they are trying best to make the classes interactive and help students. Teachers never deserve any disrespect. Students who do such things need to reflect+

anyone who abuses teachers should be ashamed of themselves and their entire existence, I'm sorry to all the teachers who have to face this everyday. Reading this made me feel so bad, it's so so wrong how students don't realise that teachers can be hurt too. https://t.co/is97CllAfz

I feel bad that I used to laugh watching other students in my class do things like this with teachers 🙁 https://t.co/3K2SunZPk5

Doing it behind their backs is just as bad. Pretty sure you weren't raised to be disrespectful, please stop embarrassing yourself. 🙏🏽 https://t.co/rT2YgYxXBc pic.twitter.com/6FeZgKXPuH

True, plz don't abuse a teacher. Some teachers hardly know how to use technology. If students do such things, moral of the teacher goes down, the teacher wants to teach you something and at an old age they can't handle such insults. Plz don't do such things plz. https://t.co/vdRnq4b6zy

My mom has worked harder than I've ever seen her just to make sure these kids' learning doesn't stop.
Honestly, I'm so proud of my mum who even at this moment is observing a class online to help another teacher who's having problems. https://t.co/kFFlWKswwx

We are currently amidst a global pandemic. Everyone is trying their best to survive. If students are facing difficulties with their studies, teachers are also facing a tough time adapting to the new normal. Let’s not make their lives harder. Instead, let’s be empathetic and help them in any way we can.
