A Starbucks Where They Don’t Ask For Names And The Reason Is Pretty Intriguing

Are you tired of getting your morning Latte with Annapoorna written on your cup, even though you clearly said Prerna? Yeah well, looks like CIA agents didn’t like this too much either.

The Starbucks branch in CIA’s headquarters in Langley, Virginia is not allowed to ask customers for their names. It’s all top secret.

When your customers are undercover agents, it sort of makes sense not to shout, “One Cappuccino for Agent Mcmuffin in front of the entire force or even strangers. This information resurfaced recently through a reddit buzz.

It was first revealed to Washington Post, that the manager of the Starbucks Branch, also known as ‘Store Number 1’, tried to implement the ‘Name’ tradition to speed up service.

He narrated that, ‘They could use the alias ‘Polly-O string cheese’ for all I care. But giving any name at all was making people — you know, the undercover agents — feel very uncomfortable. It just didn’t work for this location.’

So even though the total of 9 Baristas who work there have gone through excruciating background checks to work in the top secret compound, they now identify agents by their order.

One of the employees confessed, ‘There’s ‘caramel-macchiato guy’ and ‘the iced white mocha woman’… But I have no idea what they do. I just know they need coffee, a lot of it.’

Well, well, the next time I want to avoid seeing ‘Deesa’ on my cup instead of Disha, I know where to go.
