Shashi Tharoor is not the regular politician who voices dull speeches that’ll have us yawning in seconds. The minister who also happens to be the author of 18 books has acquainted us with some fancy words like “floccinaucinihilipilification” and “hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia” among others that are by no means a part of our daily vocabulary. After leaving us scratching our heads in confusion in the past with his exhaustive list of words, he’s on a roll again with a new, fancier word.
Tharoor recently delivered a speech at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) assembly in Serbia as part of the Indian delegation. In the video that he shared on twitter, he was seen taking a dig at Pakistan for its interference in Kashmir and responded to a ‘vitriolic outburst’ by Pakistan’s delegate at the IPU Parliament.

An MP for Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor also said, “We will, however, fight our own battles democratically and do not need or welcome interference from across the border. Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. It is ironic that a state which is responsible for inflicting countless cross-border terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir is trying to masquerade as the champion of Kashmiri’s, they are not.” He went on to say:
“These malicious efforts will not be allowed to succeed by the parliament of India. We expect better from parliamentarians then ‘vituperative’ mudslinging”.
Twitter was quick to pick up the new word ‘vituperative’ from Tharoor’s dictionary. While some eased our task of looking it up on Google, others came up with funny comments that have left us LOL-ing.
Word of the day – VITUPERATIVE. Means "bitter and abusive" or "निंदापूर्ण" – #ShashiTharoor 🙏😊 pic.twitter.com/F5fkUZ7jVB

Well said. Pak delegation will be scrambling for their dictionaries to search for "vituperative" and then realise it's not a compliment https://t.co/TfUtvXeoO6

Tharoor never fails to give me hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. Can we have an early weekend to survive this hangover?
