In India, the dream of studying abroad seems like an exclusive realm reserved for the privileged. Financial struggles often cast a shadow on aspirations, making the prospect of a foreign university seem distant for many. Yet, amidst economic challenges, there are resilient souls who defy the odds.
One such person is Dhanshree who, despite being the daughter of a security guard and coming from a financially struggling family, fulfilled her dream of graduating from a college in the United Kingdom.
She shared a video of her journey from breaking the news of her acceptance to the college to her father and sharing a hug, leaving her city and bidding goodbye to her family at the airport, and finally graduating from college and posing with her degree in a saree.
“To everyone who said to my father, ‘You are just a guard, you can’t send your daughter abroad’. Thank you Pappa for believing in me,” she wrote.
