Sadhguru Lauds Ram Charan’s Wife Upasana For Not Having Kids As It Will Reduce Global Warming

To have kids or not to have kids is a couple’s decision, more so a woman’s decision because it is her body that has to go through the various complexities that come with pregnancy. Many couples nowadays are choosing to be child-free, and that’s completely fine. Many women are also choosing to get pregnant late into their marriages, in their 40s, shattering the “biological cycle” myth, and that’s also okay.

One such couple who has been married for 10 years and is child-free is ‘RRR’ actor Ram Charan and his wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela, an entrepreneur and philanthropist. In an event with the spiritual leader Sadhguru, Upasana opened up about her decision to not have kids and the societal pressure that comes with it.

Hindustan Times quoted her telling Sadhguru, “I have been very happily married for 10 years now. I love my life, I love my family but why do people find it their duty to question my RRR. RRR is my relationship, my ability to reproduce, and my role in my life. There are so many women like me who would want an answer to this.”

Sadhguru went on to laud her decision to not have kids and said that he would give her an award for choosing to remain child-free throughout her life.

“If you stay this way, not reproducing, I am going to give you an award. I have already announced an award for all those young women, who are healthy and can reproduce but choose not to. This is the greatest service you can do right now,” he said.

He went on to add that population control has the ability to reduce global warming.

“This (humans) is not an endangered species. We are just too many. We are heading towards 10 billion in the next 30-35 years. Man is worried about carbon footprint but if the human footprint is reduced, there is no need to worry about global warming too. So, it’s good to see women who chose to not reproduce,” he said.
